Now following the September 2024 updated taxonomy. Latest: December 2024: Beira, Dibatag, Somali Sengi, Somali Galago and Abyssinian Genet among 13 lifers in Ethiopia's Somali Region and Djibouti; October 2024: Chinchilla and Chinchilla Rat in Chile among 5 new species there with at least another 9 in Bolivia including all the endemic Titi Monkeys, Brown Four-eyed Opossum and Bolivian River Dolphins; August 2024: Sagebrush Vole, Crater Chipmunk and Townsend's Pocket Gopher among 5 new rodents in the NW USA; Pygmy Sperm Whales and Sowerby's Beaked Whales in the Azores plus Azorean Noctules; June 2024: Bowhead Whales and Hooded Seals off of Svarlbard; May 2024 Dwarf Sperm Whales and Vaquita (!) in Baja California; April 2024: Tehuantepec Jackrabbits among 15 lifers in Chiapas & Oaxaca; March 2024: 11 lifers in Ivory Coast including Dwarf Anomalure, White-bellied Pangolin and a stunning Liberian Mongoose. Previous highlights include Giant Pangolin, Giant Armadillo, Giant Panda, Pygmy Hippo, Bactrian Camel and Western Long-beaked Echidna.
