Winter in Sichuan!

Spectacular expedition to Sichuan this past December 2024.  Great to revisit some of my favorite places in China and see so many species and incredible natural beauty.  It was also interesting to be reminded what minus 15C feels like!

Great report. It sounds like you’ve had a great time. As I started my “naturalist” carrer as a birdwatcher, I allow myself to correct the text under the two falcons from the Tibetan Plateau. The one labelled Merlin is a Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) and the one named Saker is a Merlin (Falco columbarius).

    Cheers

Thank you for that! Those were the exact two I was hesitant on their ID! Cheers
