Glad to see more people going to see the red wolves sad you couldn’t get a photo. Me and my dad saw them when we went in December. I think we got a photo but the three were a distance away.

Yeah the wolves were amazing and I’m happy you got to see them! I’ll have to return eventually to try for better views and a photo.

Great report and fun to read too. Congrats on the Atlantic Spotted Dolphins. I took at least three pelagic trips here before I saw that species. And River Otters are easy in many places (Eg Point Reyes)

Thanks Jon! The Atlantic Spotted Dolphins were wonderful and one of the prettiest dolphins out there in my opinion. There may be a trip report coming up from the Point Reyes area featuring a River Otter so stay tuned 🙂

Envious of those spotted dolphins! I’ve been on three pelagics out of Hatteras this year alone without seeing any, but we did have Gervais’ Beaked Whale breaching on a June 1 trip out of there. I’ll be back out in a couple weeks trying again for cetaceans and birds!

I’m crossing my fingers that you’ll see the dolphins on your next trip as they really are fabulous animals. And I’m jealous of your Gervais’ Beaked Whale, especially since you saw one breaching!
