Trip Report – Laikipia, Samburu & Amboseli Tour – Royle Safaris – October/November 2023
Royle Safaris ran a private tour to Kenya for a couple of clients who have visited the country several times before. They had never visited Laikipia or Samburu before and so these were the focus of the trip and we finished with some time in Amboseli as they have some friends who live nearby and wanted to also visit them.
We were very successful with 60+ species found including Grevy’s Zebra, Gunther’s Dik-dik in Samburu as well as several nocturnal species such as East African Springhare, White-tailed Mongoose, Bat-eared Fox and Zorilla and some very nice views of Lion, Leopard, Cheetah (including spending a lot of time with a mother and 4 cubs) and great Elephants.
It was a more run of the mill safari to some of the specialist mammalwatching trips that Royle Safaris runs, but it was also very nice to spend quality time in one of the greatest countries in the world for wildlife watching and see the huge numbers of animals present throughout most of Kenya’s wonderful protected areas.
