Great trip report Ellen. Alvaro is a fantastic pelagic guide, glad you went with him. Also fantastic about your time in Point Reyes! The elephant seal presence, and how far you have to walk is fully dependent on the time of year. If you come back again in winter, they will be at the parking lot! Just a note in general for anyone reading this, spotlighting is NOT allowed in Point Reyes. Long-tailed weasel can be tricky there, and there are better spots nearby, but they can be seen there. Amazing that you saw a mountain lion!

Hi Sebastian! Yes we had a truly fabulous trip. Glad to know that about the elephant seals it would be awesome to see them right in the parking lot. And oh my god, I had no idea that spotlighting wasn’t allowed!
