Sabah, Borneo, 4th – 21st June 2024

A nice trip to Borneo (again!) with most targets clinched. But as always it was just great being out there amongst the wildlife. The highlights being Marbled Cat, Otter Civet, Pen-tailed Treeshrew.

    Januari is such a good river guide. Very quite 🙂
    He found me 3 Flat-headed cats last time I was there.

    Hi Andreas, yes we all agreed that Janu is an excellent river guide. I’d definitely use him again when I go back for Flat-headed Cat. Having just read John Weir’s report maybe I should have been there in April!

      And I should have been with both of you as you got the Marbled cat 🙂

      Together with Clouded Leopard a species I have yet to see in Borneo.
      Soon time to plan another trip there…

    Stunning marbled cat!! Absolute top 5 dream mammal for me. Rob Jansen had similar sightings of Marbled cat. Does anyone know more about them? Is this a pair with a better territory than before?

      Hello Maurice, I don’t know if it’s a pair in better territory or who would know that for sure. All I can say is go to Sabah and put the night work in and you stand a chance of scoring!
