China for Snow Leopards, Red Pandas and possibly Giant Pandas – late February/early March 2025

Hi all,

I’ve planned out a trip to Sichuan and Qinghai provinces in China to look for snow leopards, red pandas, golden snub-nosed monkey and with some luck – giant pandas. Other mammals as well, including a number of ungulates, however these are the main target species. The trip would begin in late February or early March.

Due to a friend of mine backing out, there is now space for 1-2 more people to join, which would be helpful for splitting costs. Since it’s relatively last minute as of right now the cost of this trip is in the range of $3,000-4,000 per person USD. The trip length is to be determined, but I am estimating in the ballpark of around two weeks. If there is interest we can look into reducing or adding time to it in order to cover additional areas as well.

I have been in touch with a guide that speaks excellent English and has a lot of experience and knowledge of wildlife in the region. He’s also worked on several projects pertaining to wildlife conservation/tourism and has good contacts that can assist with spotting.

If you’re interested please reply here, preferably with an e-mail and we can be in touch.

Thanks,
Sam

Edit

Just wanted to update that as of January 13, 2025 there is still room for this trip. I have e-mailed everyone that has replied to date.
