Call for joining big wildlife trip in India
As already mentionned in another post, I am planning to go to India for several months in the first part of 2025. I will be travelling with my partner who is not as interested in wildlife as I and out goal is also to visit cultural stuff along the way. However, I have identified several legs that will be dedicated to wildlife-watching :
- Gujarat with Rann of Kutch, Sasan Gir and maybe Blackbuck NP
- Uttarakhand with Corbett, Sattal & Pangot (mainly birding) and then maybe Munsyari that seems to offer diversified Himalayan fauna (goral, musk deer, marten…)
- Ladakh for you know what
- Sikkim, mainly for birding as Habre’s Nest is out of my budget but hiking in the area might still yield red panda sighting
- Assam with Kaziranga but also Jorhat for hoolock and Manas/Kakoijana for golden langur.
- Tamil Nadu with several Nilgiris areas (Chinnar, Munnar, Valparai). I would be interested as well in visiting Parambikulam Tiger Reserve as it makes more sense in the itirenary and seems promising. Anyone have been there ?
The overall planning is ongoing but still very flexible. I would be glad to travel with any mammal-watcher to spread costs of professional guides and vehicule. So if you had in mind to travel in India for one of those locations please do not hesitate to reach out to me at antoine.rabussier@gmail.com.
On top of that, any recommandation of local guide or specialized tour-operators (already seen ficus and asian adventures mentionned several times) would be welcomed. Looking forward already !
