    Sounds like you had a great visit. I went a couple years ago in late November and we saw the red wolves, and we saw 7-8 black bears a day, including the biggest one I have ever seen. A local photographer said that some of the nearby refuges, especially Pungo National Wildlife Refuge, was even better for black bear. I was surprised – I thought that the best black bear locations would be in the western US or Alaska, but it seems the eastern seaboard has awesome bear viewing. The red wolves are of course the real draw. You were lucky with the bobcat!
