Advertising: Wildwings – Parrots and Primates Cruise through Amazonian Brazil, May 2024

This should be a great trip which I have no hesitation in recommending! I know the guides, the boats, the crew and a least some of the forest and its mammals. I travelled here in 2017 for an exceptionally good trip: mammals galore and, dare I say it, a comfortable and relaxed way to travel! No, I didn’t realise that was possible either. This itinerary goes further than we did and you will get deeper along the river system.

In May 2024, WildWings will be running the next departure of their popular “Primates and Parrots” tour to Amazonian Brazil.  Based on a comfortable river boat, this exclusive charter explores the forests between Manaus and Santarem with the goal of seeing the highly localised primates of this region.

The last tour recorded 26 species including Golden-white Tassel-ear Marmoset, Sateré Marmoset, Maués Marmoset, Silvery Marmoset, Santarem Marmoset, Midas Tamarin, Pied Tamarin, Martin’s Bare-faced Tamarin, Lake Baptista Titi, Hoffman’s Titi, Spix’s Black-headed Uacari and Amazon Black Howler, many of which are simply impossible to see without a boat and expert local knowledge.

Participants can also expect to see a great selection of other mammals with nocturnal excursions on the rivers adding to the wide range of species which can be found.

Localised birds also feature, including the stunning Golden Parakeet and poorly known Bald and Vulturine Parrots.

The trip is now a guaranteed departure and for more information please click here.  The tour information pack is also attached.
