Advertising: FACE-TO-FACE WITH MAMMALS TOUR
Fed up with brief sightings that don’t give you much of a sense of the animal? Tired of sifting through blurry photos trying to guess if it was a rare species you were dreaming about or just another feral cat?
Our special tour is dedicated to getting up-close encounters with enigmatic mammals of South America. We will be travelling through the vast wilderness of the Paraguayan Chaco to visit a network of water holes scattered across the driest part part of the region. Carefully planned observation sessions at the waterholes have proven to be the best way to ensure prolonged, high quality encounters, with a surprising number of them occurring during daylight hours. Needless to say, this tour offers great opportunities for those with an interest in photography. After three years of almost non-stop exploration of the area, we know where and when to get the best sightings. We revisit our most productive sites regularly and monitor them with camera traps when we are away. With up-to-date information on mammal activity, we adjust the itinerary to maximise the chances of seeing target species. We run this tour in small groups only to ensure that the animals are not disturbed and the sightings are very personal. Our tours directly support the conservation of the magical places we visit.
