Advertising: Congo River Cruise with Chalo Africa, December 2024 including Bonobos and Sangha Lodge

I posted this a few weeks back but am posting it again because the itinerary has been updated (see attached PDF) to include more time at Sangha Lodge. If you heard Rod Cassidy on the podcast last month you might be inspired to go visit him! There are still a handful of spots left on the boat for this epic trip.

Chalo Africa are running a cruise along the Congo River from Ouesso in the DRC to Brazzaville in the Congo via Sangha Lodge in the Central African Republic and Cameroun.

A few berths have opened up so if you want to cruise the Congo in style then look no further. There will of course be some great mammalwatching along the way including the magnificent Sangha Bai with its Forest Elephants and chances for Bongos; habituated Bonobos in the DRC; and searching for the mega rare Bouvier’s Red Colobus. Indeed primates will be a particular focus as champion primate lister Russ Mittermeier will be on board as guest scientist.

Sangha Bai

Full details are in the attached.

Chalo Africa are also offering a week’s extension in Gabon after the cruise and two places are available. Details are here.

Please mention mammalwatching if you contact Chalo and let me know too – I want to hear all about it! I wish I could go.
