Mammals of Australia Part 5 of 6: Bats and Rats

Hi people,

My biggest adventure of my life, cruising throughout Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia in search of (mostly) birds and mammals! I drove an approximate 47.000 km in a year. It was the best time of my life!

I also wrote an extensive report about the 117 species of mammals I encountered. Due to some splits this number has risen a bit.

Here is part 5 of 6 of videos of these mammals:

Species shown mostly in alphabetical order:

Fruit Bats: Black Flying Fox, Grey-headed Flying Fox, Little Red Flying Fox, Spectacled Flying Fox.

Other Bats: Chocolate Wattled Bat, Common Bentwing Bat, Diadem Leaf-nosed Bat, Dusky Leaf-nosed Bat, Eastern Cave Bat, Eastern Horseshoe Bat, Finlayson’s Cave Bat, Ghost Bat, Large-footed Myotis, Lesser Long-eared Bat, Little Bentwing Bat, Orange Leaf-nosed Bat, Throughton’s/Common Leafnosed Bat.

Rats: Arnhem Land Rock Rat, Bush Rat, Giant White-tailed Rat.

See also the added trip report with all the information per species in this earlier report:
