Although there is much more to mammalwatching than listing species, it is – for many of us – a fun way to track our effort. Mammal listing is nothing more than a friendly competition. I do not count domestic cats. Highlights include watching a Snow Leopard on eye level at close distance also watching them mate for a day. Sneaking up on a Pallas' Cat. Watching 3 full-grown Puma cubs up close while on foot. Watching a Bornean Clouded Leopard.

Most recent species was either Pallas's Cat or Chinese Mountain Cat in 2019. Can't remember the order of observation, though probably Pallas's. Are we expected to include feral Domestic Cats in our lists? I've done so, they're not difficult in Australia but do wonder why.

I saw lions (Panthera leo), leopards (Panthera pardus), cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus) in South Africa in 2014 (and have also seen various feral domestic cats)
