Advert: Sun Bears and night mammals of KaenKraechan, Thailand – year change 2024-2025
Due to personal circumstances with a family emergency I have to cancel my participation on a Kaeng Krachan Sunbear private tour in Thailand. The tour (14 days – 13 nights) starts on December 22, 2024 and ends on January 4, 2025 from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. Only three people plus one local guide.
The prime focus will be on the Malayan Sun Bear near both two well known locations. In the night the bear is not difficult. Seeing the bear during daylight is of course better. The local guide has contacts with rangers in the park. A huge advantage regarding stand-in info of the sunbears during daytime. Melanistic Leopard is possible at two specific places during the drive up and down from the park entrance.
Once satisfied with the Sun bear (which should be done in the first 5-7 days max), the focus will shift to finding Marbled Cat and Mainland Clouded Leopard and other rarities such as Robinson’s banded Langur and Fae’s Muntjac. The guide also has some thermal camera optics because mammals will also be searched for at night.
Rate is 3645 US $ full board (excluding flights) by international money transfer. Single option 580 US$. A deposit of 1335 US$. Rest of the amount is due before the 1st of December 2024. Rate inclusives and exclusives can be provided on demand.
