Mammals of Australia Part 1: Monotremes, Carnivorous marsupials, Bandicoots, Koala and Wombats

Hi people,

My biggest adventure of my life, cruising throughout Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia in search of (mostly) birds and mammals! I drove an approximate 47.000 km in a year. It was the best time of my life!

I also wrote an extensive report about the 117 species of mammals I encountered. Due to some splits this number has risen a bit.

Here is part 1 of 6 of videos of these mammals:

Species filmed:

Monotremes: Echidna, Platypus.

Carnivorous marsupials: Eastern Quoll, Northern Quoll, Spot-tailed Quoll, Tasmanian Devil, Fat-tailed Dunnart, Yellow-footed Antechinus.

Bandicoots: Northern Brown Bandicoot, Western Brown Bandicoot.

Koala: Koala.

Wombats: Common Wombat, Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat.

Species of these groups seen but not filmed: Numbat (a monotypic family), Subtropical Antechinus, Southern Long-nosed Bandicoot, Northern Long-nosed Bandicoot, Eastern Barred Bandicoot, Southern Brown Bandicoot, Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat.

Best regards,
