Mammals of the USA Part 2

Hi people,

One of my favourite trips for mammals was made back in April/May 2013 during a roadtrip of more then 5000 kilometers in the USA. Satring from Las Vegas, driving along the Grand Canyon north into Utah and Wyoming and ending in northern Colorado. The title of the video is Mammals of the American Midwest, which is incorrect (I can not change the title anymore because I forgot how to get into that particular YouTube account).

Locations and species filmed:

Ps: The text at the start of the video Rocky Mountains National Park is mentioned, but it starts in Yellowstone National Park.

Yellowstone National Park: American Pika, Pacific (American Pine) Marten, Bighorn Sheep, Coyote, Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel, Grizzly Bear, Least Chipmunk, Yellow Pine Chipmunk, North American Porcupine, North American River Otter, Pronghorn, Red Fox, Rocky Mountain Goat, Wolf.

Medicine Bow National Forest: Least Chipmunk, American Red Squirrel, White-tailed Prairie Dog.

Rocky Mountains National Park: American Pika, Least Chipmunk, Moose, Elk (Wapiti).

Pawnee Grasslands: Eastern Cottontail, Black-tailed Prairie Dog, Eastern Fox Squirrel.

Species also seen but not filmed: White-tailed Antelope Squirrel, Gunnison’s Prairie Dog, Mountain Cottontail, White-tailed Jackrabbit, Northwestern Jumping Mouse and Snowshoe Hare.

Note that I have identified the several species of chipmunks in the videos a few years later after uploading this video with help of others. I think I put the names correctly but I may have made a mistake here and there. I can’t 100 % certainly remember which ones are which. Please let me know!

Best regards,
