Trip Report – Lao Endemic Mammals – Royle Safaris – April 2023
Straight from Royle Safaris Vietnam’s Rare Primate Tour Martin went to Laos to meet a client and lead a private tour to Laos. This short trip was focused on Kha-nyou (Laotian Rock Rat) as well as Lao Langur and we were successful in seeing both of these species and several other mammals and birds.
Due to the dubious nature of the techniques used by the locals (which only came to light near the end of the trip) we have decided not to disclose the location we visited. We are looking into ways to make this sustainable and not lead to disturbance of the population of Kha-nyou here. We believe that this is possible with the right training in place.
