Pictus Safaris Trip Report – Chad 2023

Pictus Safaris organised three successful mammal-focussed tours to Chad in 2023 – a detailed report has already been shared for one of these tours, and another report will be shared in due course. This high-level report aggregates the sightings enjoyed across these three tours, with mammal highlights including scimitar-horned oryx, dama gazelle, addax, Libyan striped weasel, caracal, serval, striped hyena, pale fox, red-fronted gazelle, red-flanked duiker, honey badger, wild cat, leopard and much more. In total, 293 bird species were also seen, with highlights including golden nightjar, Sudan golden sparrow, standard-winged nightjar, Egyptian plover, Nubian bustard and trumpeter finch.
