As a Swiss traveler, I have been fortunate to explore many beautiful corners of the world. But when I recently visited Colombia, something about the country’s stunning nature and vibrant culture captivated me in a way that no other place ever has. One of the highlights of my trip was discovering a hidden gem of a destination that felt like a true oasis in the Valley of Magdalena Medio Cimitarra – Reserva Natural Porvenir. Tucked away in a peaceful corner, I stumbled upon a cozy and authentic retreat that immediately stole my heart. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warm welcome I received from the locals. The family at the retreat went above and beyond to make me feel at home, sharing stories about their way of life and offering invaluable tips on how to fully experience the natural wonders that surrounded me. The retreat itself was a marvel to behold. Every detail had been carefully considered to create a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. I loved curling up in a hammock on the terrace, listening to the sounds of the jungle and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. But it was the nature that truly stole the show. From dense rainforests teeming with exotic wildlife to stunning creeks, rivers down rugged cliffs, every inch of the landscape was a feast for the senses. And thanks to the retreat’s local guides, I was able to explore it all with ease and confidence. All in all, my time at this beautiful retreat was an unforgettable experience that left me with a deep appreciation for the magic of Colombia’s nature and the warmth of its people. If you’re looking for an authentic and truly breathtaking travel destination, I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
