New Trip Report: Bonobos, Nkala/Mpelu Community Forest, DRC

Here’s a fascinating – and disturbing in places – report from Angiolo Laviziano who visited a “new” site for Bonobos: the Nkala/Mpelu Community Forest.

The good news is that it is much quicker to reach this reserve than the other Bonobo areas I have heard about. The bad news is the apparent absence of other mammals there along with the amount of logging traffic on the river.
