Mammals of Poland
I am doing a week of mammal watching in Poland in September, and would appreciate any information, such as recommended guides, sites to visits and also which of the mammals are genuine, i.e not re- introductions or non native.
Many thanks
Kevin

I sent a proposal to my agent, but so far she hasn’t found a publisher. I’ll appreciate any suggestions.

These guys have great site guides that you can buy from their website
http://wildpoland.com/We used the guide to Bialowieza and we can’t recommend it enough! (see our 2011 trip report on this site)

All I can say is that in 1993 there were lots of root voles (known as tundra voles in North America) on the marshy shores of Wisla in the huge park in the western part of Krakow (the one where the city zoo is located). Not worth a special trip, but if you are in Krakow anyway, you might check it out. This species is not so easy to find in other parts of Europe.
