Mammal Watching Tours – Rwanda, Dominican Republic, Tanzania & Spain Available Summer 2020
Following up from our post on our Spanish tours running this summer we are happy to announce a further 3 countries which you can visit for mammal watching with Royle Safaris:
1) Dominican Republic
2) Rwanda
3) Tanzania
Dominican Republic
In the last few years we have run trips to the Dominican Republic with the help of the country’s leading wildlife conservationist and expert to find and observe the wonderful Hispaniolan Solenodon and Hispaniolan Hutia (as well as several bat species as well as endemic iguana and bird species) with 100% success rate. These are also best run as private, tailored tours and we are back running these trips now.
Rwanda
Known for its incredible mountain gorillas, the small East African country of Rwanda is a mecca for wildlife watchers. Coming face to face with these gentle giants is a life changing experience and one that Royle Safaris has provided for many people over the last 10 years. There are other areas for wildlife watching in Rwanda including Nyungwe Forest (with its Chimpanzees, Silver Monkeys, Angolan Colobus, L’Hoest’s Monkey, Owl-faced Monkeys and many more primate species) and Akagera National Park.
Tanzania
Little needs to be written about the wildlife watching in Tanzania, one of the greatest and most famous safari destinations in the world, places such as the Serengeti and Ngorogoro crater need no introduction. But there is so much more to Tanzania, with huge and remote wildernesses available for the more adventurous (such as Selous National Park, Ruaha National Park and the Udzungwa Mountains (for the newly described Kipunji)) any wildlife enthusiast will thoroughly enjoy a post lockdown safari to Tanzania.
Spain
As mentioned in our previous post Royle Safaris is running to trips to Spain, the main focus for Spain is the wonderful and endangered Iberian Lynx. We run several specialist lynx watching tours to Spain every year and with special access to private estates and photography hides we have a 100% success rate in seeing this amazing animal at all times of year (including summer). We specialise in tailored private tours here and if anyone is interested in seeing the Iberian lynx we can organise a trip for you anytime, our first tour after lockdown started today (2nd July 2020). However Spain is not currently open to any and all countries, citizens from all EU nations as well as UK, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are able to enter Spain without restrictions and also citizens from another 15 ‘safe’ countries which are Algeria, Australia, Canada, China, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay. If you are a national of any of those countries and wish to see the Iberian lynx, then please contact us with a comment here or on email (info@royle-safaris.co.uk) and we can prepare a tailored tour for you.
So if anyone is interested in any of these destinations just get in touch. Other countries are opening up all of the time and we expect to update our list of destinations every week.
We look forward to hearing back from you.
