Eye of the Pangolin film – Virtual Screening with Live Q&A on Sat 11 April at 3pm EST/8pm UK/9pm Central Europe

This is a great idea from Dazzle Africa. If you haven’t gotten around to watching the Eye of the Pangolin film that was released last year – focusing on the four African Pangolin species – then here’s the perfect opportunity, with a virtual screening followed by a Q&A with the producer, Rod Cassidy (who some of us know and love from Sangha Lodge)  and others. Sign up now on the link below – bandwidth means that spots are limited.

Eye of the Pangolin is the ground-breaking story of two men on a mission to get all four species of African pangolin on camera for the very first time. As they travel the African continent to learn more about those caring for and studying pangolins they are captivated by these strange, secretive creatures and document the race to save them from being poached to extinction.

Shy, curious and beguiling, pangolins are the most illegally trafficked animal in the world. The insatiable Asian market prizes their scales for unfounded medical uses and their meat as a dining delicacy.  Many experts believe that these defenseless animals are at the center of the COVID-19 outbreak. Watch the film and follow the filmmakers as they track down the four species of pangolins and learn more about these incredible creatures, including their link to COVID-19.

Our Zoom event will begin at 3 pm ET with a 5-minute introduction by Dazzle Africa’s Executive Director Stacy James, followed by the 45-minute film. The 30-minute Q+A will be held directly afterward and features the filmmaker Bruce Young, Paul Thomson of Save Pangolins and other leading conservationists such as Rod Cassidy from Sangha Lodge and Kate Wilson from Mulberry Mongoose.

Put it on your calendar today and join us on April 11th for this exciting and timely event! Only 500 spots available! Sign up now and invite your entire family to the viewing (may not be suitable for children under 13)!
