New Trip Report: The Yucatan

Here’s a great report from Venkat Sankar, who was just back in Mexico with Juan Cruzado Cortes.

Yucatan, 2018: Venkat Sankar, 5 nights & 41 species including Hairy-legged Vampire Bat, Cozumel Golden Bat and Gaumer’s Mouse Opossum.

      Thanks Vladimir, it was a fun trip. Hoping to get to Oaxaca and Chiapas next Jan, will try to get to Cerro Zempoaltepec as you recommend. Looks like a nice place with micro-endemic Microtus umbrosus, Habromys lepturus, and other good stuff. Hopefully the cold won’t matter too much.

        Actually, it might. I was there on one of the last warm nights of the year. Jon was there when it was cold. So much difference.
