Reporting Malaysian mammal records on SEAVR (Ecology Asia)

On 13 March 2018 I posted that Nick Baker (Ecology Asia) maintains a site for peer reviewed articles on noteworthy records in the Southeast Asia region. He has recently posted at https://www.ecologyasia.com/seavr.htm that he is no longer posting records for Malaysia due to the unfortunate situation that:

“In Indonesia and Malaysia recent changes in attitude and negative, disrespectful articles in the online press towards the harmless pursuits of amateur naturalists have led to accusations of non-citizens being engaged in illegal research. As a consequence, as of 24th August 2019 Ecology Asia no longer hosts any SEAVR contributions for Malaysia: this applies to both citizens and non-citizens. All SEAVR content for Malaysia has been removed”.
