Saola photographed
Spotting a saola is a little like looking for the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot. (Except a saola is, you know, real.) The elusive long-horned ox, which looks rather like an antelope, is among the rarest animals on Earth and hadn’t been seen in 15 years. The saola was only discovered in 1992, in a remote mountain area near Laos, and the last confirmed sighting was in 1998. So wildlife biologists and conservation groups were over the moon when this image of the creature was snapped in September by a camera trap in the forest in Vietnam.

I just heard that the camera was set up in the area where I found saola tracks a few years ago. The location is now secret, sorry.
